It’s been a while since I’ve been outdoors for more than just to head to/from DBC, grab lunch, or go for drinks after a long day with my cohort-mates, so today I went to Golden Gate park to get some much needed time away from the screen.
After a nice long walk and a detour to The Cheesecake Factory, I got back and decided to watch a few videos on talks.devbootcamp.com. We’ll be going over SQL+ruby and ActiveRecord next week, so I watched a few videos on both of these topics and did a bit of experimenting with the gems to make myself a little more comfortable with them.
Aside from that, I added a few fixes to my api_roulette gem, since it wasn’t correctly installing nokogiri when it itself was installed – it turned out that I had only added a development dependency to the gemspec, rather than a runtime_dependency. It’s working fine now, so I can start thinking about enhancements to add to it rather than worrying about whether it’s actually working at all for anyone other than me.
